As part of a REUSE project, ultraviolet Type C (UV-C) treatment of wastewater results in water that meets standards without the addition of chemicals. Rather than being discharged directly into the natural environment, the wastewater will undergo additional purification by UV treatment. By directly attacking the cells of viruses and bacteria present in the water, our UV-C reactors disinfect the water without endangering human health or the environment.
Treated wastewater can thus be used for watering green spaces or golf courses, irrigating crops in agriculture, firefighting, washing cars or for industrial processes.
