Our technologies

Ultraviolet (UV-C)

UV-C disinfection: healthy, chemical-free water
The sun emits invisible ultraviolet rays. This natural phenomenon is replicated inside BIO-UV Group reactors, which contain powerful lamps that emit UV-C rays.

At 254 nanometres, the optimal wavelength for eradicating microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, algae, yeasts, moulds, etc.), UV-C rays penetrate the heart of DNA and disrupt cell metabolism until they are completely inactivated. All germs are eradicated (including Legionella, Cryptosporidium, etc.) and can no longer reproduce.

UV disinfection

Benefits:

  • Fast and effective disinfection
  • Preserves the taste, smell and pH of the water
  • No harmful disinfection by-products
  • Environmentally friendly technology

Salt electrolysis

Salt electrolysis: a natural cycle for healthy water
Saltwater chlorination is an environmentally friendly process that disinfects swimming pool water without requiring external chlorine supplies such as liquid, tablets, or powder. When salt is dissolved in a pool and comes into contact with titanium electrodes, it breaks down into sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl). This active self-generating chlorine is immediately available and effectively destroys any organic matter, bacteria, fungi or algae present in the water.

The chlorine is converted back into salt under the effect of the sun’s ultraviolet rays, and returns to the electrode circuit to restart a natural and continuous disinfection cycle.

Benefits:

  • Higher efficiency than added chlorine
  • Reduces eye and skin irritation
  • Convenient, no handling or storage of hazardous products
  • Lower operating costs
  • Automated chlorine level adjustments

Ozone (O3)

Ozone: a powerful oxidant for crystal-clear water
Ozone (O₃) is a highly active form of oxygen (O₂), and is more effective than most chemical treatments, such as chlorination. It is a natural gas with virucidal, germicidal, bactericidal and fungicidal properties, capable of oxidising all organic and inorganic compounds.
Its unique property is that it decomposes back into its original form of oxygen. It also acts as a flocculant, producing crystal-clear water that is odourless and tasteless.

Benefits:

  • Exceptional oxidising power
  • Flocculating action: removes fine particles and suspended matter
  • Clear, tasteless and odourless water
  • Environmentally friendly process

Advanced oxidation (AOP)

AOP (advanced oxidation process): enhanced disinfection
AOP combines ozone and ultraviolet rays to create hydroxyl radicals (•OH), which are extremely reactive and have a very short lifespan. The combination of these radicals with the action of ozone and UV rays provides triple-action disinfection, capable of eliminating even the most stubborn contaminants, such as chloramine precursors and other organic residues present in water.

This method leaves no chemical residue, ensuring clean, healthy, clear water. It is ideal for commercial pools, water parks, and other facilities where water quality is essential.

AOP

Benefits:

  • Triple disinfecting action (UV-C + ozone + hydroxyl radicals)
  • Elimination of by-products (chloramines, organic compounds)
  • Enhanced effectiveness against viruses and emerging micro-pollutants
  • Ideal for environments with high sanitary requirements
