Disinfection of water by salt electrolysis
The AKERON Salt range, for a salt pool always balanced without adding chemicals
The electrolysis of salt in swimming pools is a principle that allows for natural water treatment. The salt present in the water in contact with titanium plates dissociates into sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl-), which immediately dissolves in water producing a natural active chlorine, which disinfects the water and destroys organic matter, bacteria, fungi and algae.
Subsequently, under the effect of ultraviolet rays, emanating from the sun, chlorine turns back into salt and then passes back into the electrodes. The disinfection cycle then starts again.
The water is thus disinfected, disinfectant and transparent without suffering the inconveniences of chemical chlorine (irritations, odors, etc.) and without adding harmful products.

The lifespan of the electrode
On average, an electrolysis cell has a lifespan of 6,000 to 10,000 operating hours, or 3 to 5 seasons for normal use (depending on water quality, maintenance and filtration time).
n order to ensure the proper functioning of the electrolyser, BIO-UV Group has designed and developed the 1001Electrodes brand. It offers cells compatible with most salt electrolyzers on the market with a choice of cells compatible with the biggest brands in the salt electrolysis market. By simply replacing the electrode, the service life of the electrolyzer is extended.
