Water treatment of collective pools by Ozone

Treatment and oxidation of water without adding chemical

The principle of ozone water treatment

Ozone is a more powerful and efficient gas than existing chemical treatments on the market, including chlorine. Indeed, ozone allows the oxidation of urea and ammonia, responsible for the production of chloramine, as well as already formed chloramines. This reduction of precursors thus leads to decreases in levels of THM (trihalomethanes), the most well-known type of which is chloroform.
Generated on site, the Ozone is dissolved and eliminates all bacteria and viruses, leaving the water perfectly clear and limpid, without bad smell or taste.

How the treatment by Ozone works

Ozone, a gas naturally present in the atmosphere, is an active oxygen form (O3) that far surpasses conventional chlorine chemical treatments in terms of power and efficiency. Up to 100 times more efficient than chlorine, it works by eliminating undesirable elements in water, such as urea and ammonia, responsible for the formation of chloramines, as well as the already present chloramines.

This process also reduces trihalomethanes (THM) – of which chloroform is the most well-known – for healthier water and more respectful of bathers’ well-being. Produced directly on site, ozone dissolves in water to eliminate all bacteria and viruses, thus ensuring a perfectly clear water, without unpleasant smell or taste.

Benefits of Ozone water treatment

  • Decrease in free chlorine residual concentration.
  • Destruction of chloramines source of skin and respiratory system irritations.
  • Improvement of water clarity and air quality.
  • Reduction of trihalomethane (THM) levels.
  • Simple to install with minimal clutter.
  • Operator safety and easy maintenance.
